Water strainer

This may sounds like a stupid question but I'm new to maintenace and need help. I'm in the process of replacing the packing in my stuffing box and raw pump impeller. I'm good on how to for those but I want to check my raw water strainer and don't know where it is! I thought it to be between the sea cock hose and the pump but there's nothing. Where should I be looking?Thanks

You don't have one

My oday 35 did not have a strainer until I installed one. The boats were not built with this option included. I strongly suggest adding it because at the end of the season there was a bunch of seagrass and stuff in it...good insurance against overheating.dave
