In October 2015, a water spout ripped through the marsh for about 4 miles and ended about 70' from my marina. It dumped enough ripped up grass to block passage out of the marina for 2 days.
I didn't realize how far the spout survived (about 4 miles). Sharing a few pictures the Admiral took on the way out to the Gulf today ≈5 months after the spout.
This what appears to be the start, the marina is about 4 miles to the left of pict.
This one shows the spout paralleling the canal. Marina to the left.
The width of the path was from 15' to 50'. I seemed to thrive on the grass, popped into the canal again but right back to the grass.
We were lucky that the marina was spared.
