I worked on high rise projects back in the 70's on the gulf in Clearwater,Fl and we saw water spouts all the time. I'm on a project now in Hempstead Harbor and I guess it was to far to see from there.
you.. Last year we encountered a waterspout on the way home from a weekend sail on the Chesapeake Bay. What a surprise.See the next to last picture the following page of our website:http://www.sailingseadragon.com/FathersDay2005.htm
I work a block and a half from the Albemarle sound. One morning I watched a spout leave the sound, cross the highway, cross the parking lot, and then hit me. It was being hit with a fire hose. I was unhurt, but very wet.
Cliff Way,Sea Cliff an old house renovation with one of the best views of the harbor, there's been some activity by the sand pit and I didn't pay to much attention but I think there unloading stuff for the Roslyn bridge project cause today I was on that side and saw the stuff on trailers and wide load tractors and I've heard that all the bridge components are coming the same way.
I know that house. Its in a beautiful location. Major renovation and nice of Sea Cliff to fix the sidewalks in front. They wanted $650,000 10 years ago. I cant imagine what its worth now.
