Water pump woes

Re: 2006 Beneteau 343; two questions/problems.
1) My water pump is leaking at the joint where I presume the white diaphragm is supposed to make the seal (it is not leaking at the "upper" joint which has a gasket). There's no gasket at the leaking joint, and to make one would be very difficult due to the thin plastic to plastic contact area. Does anybody have a resolution for this? Local marine store could not find a rebuild kit. The pump works fine otherwise. I'm hoping for a cure before spending $200 - $300 for a new one (model is 2095-433-244). Also, would anyone suggest that a much less expensive pump with similar specs would work okay?
2) The electrical junction box for its wiring is a Sarel IP55-grade, round enclosure. Hot wires come into the box, then come out, having been split for the water pump and the bilge pump. The cover of this box spins easily, but I can't figure out how to open the thing, so I can work with wire junctions there, rather than have to splice outside of the box. BTW, Sarel is now Schneider Electric UK.

Many thanks for any input.

Junction box cover

Thanks for reply. I pulled on that cover pretty firmly, but was afraid to damage it. Will give it a little extra yank.
