Has anyone figured out how to reduce the fresh water pump noise? These things are fastened to the hull and vibrate throughout the boat. They have rubber bases but they don't do much.

Maybe one of those sound absorbing mats used in auto stereo installation. I have had the excessive noise alert me to an empty tank while underway.

you could blanket the pumps compartment with the sound - reduction foil back stuff which they put in engine compartments...

Check the feet and mounts to insure that the feet still have resilience and aren't tightened too much.. make sure there is nothing of the pump or its base touching any fiberglass or solid parts of boat.. You should be able to easily wiggle the pump about 3/8" .. ohh yeah. check that the piping to/from the pump is not bound up and hitting boat parts within about 2 feet of the pump. I am assuming the pump is not one of those old "machine gun" single diaphragm pumps.. If so change it out to a new three or four diaphragm "rotary" type pump.

I put a mouse pad or two between it and the hull. It works for a while but then wears out and the noise is back.

I mounted my deck washdown pump by attaching a piece of rubber hose (1.25?) to the mounting board, then nut and bolted the pump to the hose. It's a big isolation block in effect. It worked so well I am going to remount the 2 OEM pumps.
