Water Pump Impeller

I have a had my Catalina 310 for about 18 months. The engine is a 25XPB and has only 48hrs on it. I sail only in fresh water, any idea on how often I should change the water pump impeller? Also the nuts on the waterpump face the engine. The space looks pretty tight, anybody know what size socket to use? Thanks

I have an '88 C-30 on the ocean and I change my impeller every other season. On fresh water you will most likely have to change it less often. I would keep a spare on board in case water stops discharging out the stern.

Socket Size

John,I just finished installing the same pump you have on your M24XPB on my M25XP. You'll need a 7/16" socket or open end wrench to remove the bolts.
