I have a hunter 290 with the Seaward 600 water heater. When I turn hot on, get a pulsing humm from the pump, but when I turn cold on, the cold intake hose at the heater raps at a rate dependent on how much I open the faucet. Its very loud, and annoying. Not making friends in the morn trying to use water when others are still sleeping! Seems to originate from inside the heater - all efforts to dampen the rap exterior to the heater are fruitless. anyone have this and a remedy other than don't use the cold tap? Thanks, Brian

It's actually the hull resonating

It's less on the hot water side because the hot water tank acts somewhat as an accumulator. An inch of foam rubber under the pump will help considerably...if it's not enough to suit you, an accumulator may the only answer.

Love my accumulator

Brian, I added a Sureflo accumulator to my water system when we replaced almost the all the plumbing in our O'28. It really is noticable how much it reduces the pounding on the system. For 30 some dollars, I feel it was money well spent. PM
