I have recently fixed this problem
Ted,I had this problem with water leakage you describe. After determining that water entering the mast was not getting out of the mast properly and was, in fact "overflowing" into the electrical runway into the salon, I solved the problem this way. First I removed the lower shroud on one side where it attaches about a foot above the base of the mast. With a small light and mirror I found about 6" of old bird nest material and baby bird bones. This material was continually blocking the drainage hole in the mast step, thus the water would build up and flow into the salon thru the electrical runway. I removed all this stuff with a piece of small hose attached to my shop-vac hose. Then I drilled a 3/8" hole through the mast and the mast step at the fwd edge to act as a better, more certain drain. Finally I put about 1/2 of a tube of silicon sealant up into the electrical runway from the underside. I tested this by running a hose into the shroud access hole and letting the water run a few minutes. No leaks! The damage to the sole is another problem and there are a number of solutions that have been posted in the forum.Bruce
