water leaking into bilge from engine

I am trying to find out how to shutoff the water coming from a grey hose at the clamp where it connects to the cooling water hose. Is there any way to turn off the water access or valve to stop the flow to change the hose. Also the bilge pump went under wwater and did not turn on is it shorted out at the bilge or another place. I have a Pearson 31-2 with a 16 hp yanmar.

Geoff, you need to trace the hose back to the point of origin where there should be a ball valve or seacock. Otherwise, it is part of your fresh water cooling system and to change the hose you may lose some water from your heat exchanger which can be easily refilled. Remember to bleed the system for air after you refill. Hope that helps. Best, Ron
