H260 Water Leak at Sliding Companionway Teak
Yup, had this. After looking close at the sliding hatch, it appeared that the sliding hatch was not fully closed and wouldn't fully close due to the padlock latch preventing the slide from traveling all the way sternward. Since our H260 rests in the slip slightly to starbord, rainwater was leaking into the gap at the front of the gap where the teak board didn't close the gap, an lowing down the groove on the right side/slide into the cabin, into the right side cushions and into the starbord under-seat locker, chill box and sink area. Solutions: a tight-fitting companionway cover; use a bungie to the mainsheet padeye in the cockpit floor to keep the slide tightly closed; get a longer padlock latch. We're using two $4 6X8 tarps from Wally-World bungied tight over the companion way; from the mast base to about 2 feet past the hatch boards. This is a lot cheaper (and uglier) than a snap-on cover and provides shade over the teak hatch boards.
