I use Colman 5 gal. camping containers.

Cost between 5-8$, and collapse as used. I place them in heavy duty plastic bags and screw the handles into the teak under the sink. This stops chaffing which WILL cause them to leak. The water hose must be clamped to the container outlet. I find it easier to fill them when under the sink and in their protective bags. alan

Water Tank

Hi Alan,I've owned two H26's. On both of them I added a flexible water tank under the V-berth. The one I have now is 35 gallons. It is easy enough to run lines from the water tank to both sinks. That frees up space under the sinks and gives you a lot more fresh water capacity.Jim Schaffs/v Savannah

Hey Jim, sounds like a good story here...

...why two? I've considered a single larger tank but settled on the two 5 gal jugs for several reasons; low maintenance (little work for a lazy guy like me), cheap to replace and simple. Same reason why I stuck to a porta-pottie type unit when "upgrading" tankage to 5.2 gal from 2.5. It's plumbed in but still easy and cheap to replace if broken and can dump it shore-side if no pump-outs. If I ever have enough $$$ to have something larger (I have 10 ft itis), then I may get into more complicated systems. Maybe just a fear of things that can break, don't know. Then again have briefly thought of a/c, shore power, pressurized water and even water heaters, now just dreaming. Your suggestion for foward tanks like the 260 has is definately better for some. alan
