So I'm getting ready to cast off the dock lines within a week or two. In getting the outboard prepped today, I unscrewed the bottom screw for the gear oil to drain it. Before the oil drained, I got about a dozen drops of water first. Never happened before.I'm assuming that the gaskets I bought to seal those screws didn't fit right, and that's where the water entered. Seems intuitive to me, but is there anything I might be missing? Any more serious issues that might need more attention than new seals on the screws? Engine is a 5 horse, 2 stroke Nissan.
