dry bilge
You should have a manual bilge pump on board at all times. This will remove all but about 1 inch under the galley, and 1 inch uner the aft dinette seat. The remainder is done with ald towels or the sponge and bucket method. Do not sail with that much water in the boat. The wieght shift on heelng could be dangerous to stability and to the battery or other electrics mounted low. After removal, use a hose on the outside to determine where the wate is coming from and fix it. The X bilge should always he dry, except after periods of heavy condensation, in which case, you should open the covers on all hatches and inspection plates to let the boat dry out. To do otherwise is inviting trouble with mildew and wiring corrosion.
