Hi all, Having a serious problem with water in the bilge on the 26.5. It's all collecting around the area where the keel bolts are. I know its not coming from anywhere in the bow because all of the that I see is in the main bilge area, and the other bilge area just aft of that. Please help as I am at a loss, I have looked everywhere to see where the water is coming in, but to no avail. Thanks, Sonny

I stole this from this site. Dry everything out and then make lines of baby powder at "stratgic" locations. Then wait. Repeat as you home in on the source.

Not sinking
Leaks can come from anywhere. Check if hot water tank is dry. Hose off the boat and see what happens. If water collects after trip, it's the rubrail. Baby powder is a good idea. I fixed 19 leaks one winter, and stopped all!

I've found leaks coming from a couple of areas on my 26.5. I think the latest is from the mast electrical plug. Most leaks are from above. Have you sponged the bilge dry? After running the pump some water will run back in, from the water in the line. Mine always has some water in it, unless I sponge it out. How high does the water in the bilge get, if you leave it alone? Let me know if you find a leak in your hot water heater! (None on a 26.5) Do you pull your boat from the water? I think you'd notice the splice between the keel and boat. Have you checked any of the other compartments for water? Look for discoloration on the wall carpet. I hope your keel isn't the problem! Do you put the stopper in the sink when you sail? If you're heeled high on a port tack, water can splash into the cabin from the sink. I've seen this happen on a 28.5.
