Over the past two seasons I have noticed that there is always 1 to 2 gallons of water in the bilge. seldom more and rarly less. The hose between the center board tube and the hull seems to be intact with 2 hose clamps at each end. If this were leaking it seems the the water would rise. All thru deck

Bilge Water

I find the same situation on my 26 but I have an automatic bilge pump, so mine never gets very deep. You might check the packing where the prop shaft enters the engine area. If you find water in the bilge under the engine the packing may be the source since the main bilge is lower then the engine compartment. Hope this helps. Herb

Cockpit Floor Scupper

Had the same problem and finally sourced the errant water to the hose that connects the floor pan scupper in the cockpit to the transom throughhull. It had rotted out and everytime it rained water would fall to the bilge. The floorpan is not connected to the hull but hangs over the bilge. In my 25 theres a distance of 6" or so between the back edge of the floor pan and the transom. I replaced the hose with a piece of rad hose. You got to really be a contortionist to get back there but may warrant a check. Don

Full fresh water tank

A friend of mine has a 26 and he found that if he filled his fresh water tank and sailed he would have water in the bilge. If he filled it half full no water!
