I am the original owner of a 7.3 meter s2 sailboat with shoal draft. The boat has always had a dry bilge and there has never been water in the boat. A couple of weeks ago, the cabin floor was wet, I looked everywhere to find a leak, none found. Upon further investigation, I found water in the bilge, pumped it out..25 gallons. Hauled boat out to inspect bottom found a 12-14" crack in keel on starboard side and spider vein cracks entire port side.
I sail on Illinois River (mud Bottom) have run aground many times. Not sure what to do to fix these cracks and if they are fixable. I am in Central Illinois, would appreciate any thoughts on how to repair this and any references for someone who can!
