Can anyone tell me how fresh water gets into the swim platform? Is there any fix for it? The dealer says it’s a common problem. If I can’t find out where it’s leaking from I was thinking about a small bilge pump. I’m in the process of purchasing the boat('94) and trying to find out some of its quirks. Thanks!

No leaks in Mine

If I understand you correctly You are finding the water in the bottom of the after locker below the swim platform . The only time I get any water in this locker is when I sail with a large following sea and the water leaks around the gasketed locker hatchs .

Hull and deck seam

Your swim platform and cockpit setup is quite elegant, to join the deck and cockpit to the hull with this configuration, allows the stern to drop below waterline, and the seam is submerged, of all your hull to deck joint, this is the most critical area, First I would notify, Hunter marine, it seems to be their problem too, and see what they can do for you, if they woun't, then You have got to go in that area, with a wire wheel and drill motor and remove all paint-gelcoat etc;, get it down to the bare glass, then fill the entire area with chopped glass and resin.

Rain Water?

Could it be Rain Water? Mine was full of water, after a heavy rain. Never leaked again though.

Bolts?

I have a 29.5 too and seem to recall a string along these lines some time ago. As I recall someone said the bolts for the swim ladder leaked and removing and reseating them cleared up the problem. You might try the old archives?
