Water in Port Aft storage

I get water in the storage compartment under the aft bunk on the port side, and don't know where it is coming from. It isn't coming from the fresh water tank cover, which is under the mattress and it isn't coming down the hull side, but shows up when heeling. Has anyone else had this problem?

Jim: I have had the same problem for the past 2 seasons and while I'm not sure I've licked it, I think I have. The leak(s) are coming from the aft storage lazarrette in the cockpit. You need to rebed EVERYTHING which terminates there and ensure all the hoses, etc. which go thru that deck are sealed properly. I have done all of the above and haven't experienced any leaks this year at all, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Good luck!Tim (S/V "TIDE")

aft cabin leak

I have a 28.5 which had a similar problem. If the basic construction is the same,I found that the water was migrating from the starboard side when the boat was heeeled. Water was gathering between the far aft plywood bulkhead and the transom. Crawl down into the locker and see if you see water pooling next to the transom. By the way, the actual leak was in the exhaust hose from the cooling water. The hose had rotted out and unless you you were watching the hose when the engine was running, you would never know. Just pure luck that I found it. Good luck
