hi, i just went to check o my boat. all is well bu i have a curious problem. my mechanic winterised boat and she is on dry now. i had all bilge 3 areas dry and cleaned up for season. today i found 2 inches in all 3 sections with 1 inch of ice. i need to know if this laying ice is a problem. and where would this water have entered from. i have a tarp covering most of boat. im baffled.... thanks alan

water isn't the problem,.......

its finding out where it came from that is. Ice expansion won't do any damage unless it can't go anywhere. If its in the bilge and there is room above it, its OK. The water in the bilge, about how much is there, like in gallons? It could be from a number of things, such as condensation, residual water inside the bilge pump and the hose. Did you personally make sure that it was dry, or are you going on what he told you?

What areas aren't covered by the tarp?

Is the mast up or down? Has anything been disconnected or replaced exterior wise such as a stanchion or wiring? What year and model is your boat?
