Water in Bilge??

I have had a couple instances where the port side has filled! with water to the point that the pump has kicked on. About 50gal of water. I can not find any point where it is coming in, and my water tanks are staying full, and the water pump is not running. I am about to try a "check valve" in the bilge pump line as it is open to the sea?? and also on the port side. Any ideas?? Only occurs on port tack or motoring over idle speeds.

Check your stuffing box. I could easily be the problem. Also do you have AC. It might be draining to the blige.

Head seacocks

What about the head seacocks? Are they closed while sailing? If the sink drain seacock isn't closed oin our C36 while healing to port we get lots of water in the sink! The closer the sink goes to waterline the more water. Regards, Chris
