Having just purchased a 1982 H22 last month, I was wondering how much water anyone has experienced building up in the bilge. The boat is docked instead of trailered, and it seems that maybe an inch or so of water accumulate in the bilge during the week.(been going on every weekend) We aren't sailing her hard at all yet, but my thought is that it's coming in from the swing keel. Does this sound right? The bottom was very well inspected, and I've checked up at the through hull area and it's bone dry. Thanks for any help!

Multiple causes...

In order to keep the bilges DRY, 1. Remove and rebed all stantions with new SS bolts and washers. Make sure the stantions are well sealed. 2. Make sure there is NO hardware screwed to the deck, SS nuts and bolts only. 3. Remove and rebed the keel bolts and use NEW SS hardware with a good (removeable) sealant. 4. Ensure that the anchor well is not leaking. Take a hose and fill it with water. If your finding water in the forepeak it's probably a leaking pulpit mount or the anchor well.
