Hi Alan, a bit of a whimsical topic...

The water heater on our boat, as with most other Hunters, is operated with AC current, which means shore power or generator sourced. The heat exchanger on the engine will heat the water going into the water heater as long as it is running. If there is no shore power or engine running then no light will come on and no water will heat. Our water heater does not have a motor so I'm not sure what motor you reference. The AC section of our power panel has a circuit breaker for the water heater. I'm unaware of any other reset switch for it. Perhaps you could describe in more detail your issue. Terry

hi terry, the suggestion was in my owners manual trouble shooting section.we have her hooked up to shore power. if there is no motor in heat exchanger how does it heat water? is there a coil? thanks alan

Hi Alan, the engine's cooling fluid pump ...

circulates coolant through a heat exchanger that transfers engine heat to water for the water heater. Our water heater circuit breaker light does not come on during this process, only when connected to shore power. Terry

hi terry, thanks for all sugestions. we sailed again todayand we had plenty of hot water from shore power. i believe the problm was that there was still anti freeze in lines and my normal heating time was now out the window. the only thing that still does not work is that the breaker light does not come on. i can live with that... thanks alan

Hi Alan, Paneltronics made many of the power...

panels for Hunter models. It may just be a burnt out lamp. Go to their web site and request advice on whether they can send a replacement lamp. It should be an easy fix. Terry
