You can go to the BoatUS store down that way and they will have what you need on the shelf. There are several different models of water heaters. Round ones and square ones, 6 to 20 gallons. On our boat the water heater is located up and behind the engine on a platform affixed to the bulkhead. Ours is a 6 gallon unit. We liveaboard and it gives us plenty of hot water.

Dimensions of the D5 with up to 17,000 BTU output are 3.5W x 6.3H x 10L. This is really compact. It runs on diesel and most importantly, the exhaust air is vented overboard.
