Does anyone know whether the electrical/inverter system installed in 1997 Hunters will not allow inverter AC power into the water heater when shore power is not plugged in?

My 97 H40.5 does not have an inverter but the breaker panel has a breaker for the water heater. My guess is an inverter could not be setup to automatically not supply one of it's AC loads so you should turn off the water heater if it has a separate breaker (which it should).
