I have heard, in the past, about a sacrificial annode inside of a water heater. I have a 6 gallon Atwood water heater in my boat. I can't find a place where the sacrificial annode would exist. I checked the owner's manuel and I didn't see a place for one. I checked the maintenance list of the waterheater and I didn't see a place on changing out the annode. Is it possible that I don't have one?The reason I am checking for this is that, especially in the beginning of the season, my hot water stinks! I mean stinks!!!!!! It smells like rotten eggs (sulpher smell). It goes away, slightly, but if it sits for a few weeks it stinks again. I tried running bleach water through the tank last year and it helped, somewhat. I have drained it several times, also. Does anyone know of anything else that I can do?
