Water heater location?

Where is the best place to put the water heater in a 1983 H30? currently, mine is behind the motor on a shelf between the rear quarter berth and the starboard lazzarette. It is really hard to get at and almost impossible to remove the old one to replace it. Also, the shelf that it is sitting on needs to be replaced.

starboard lazzarette-1979 Hunter 30'

I have my 6 gallon stainless on the shelf in the starboard lazzarette. To get it there I have to remove the cover and the fiberglass insulation. Pass the tank over the engine from the quarter berth. I then re-built the unit and bolted down. I also had to press into service one very thin sailor who agreed to bolt down the back two screws by going into the lazzarette to acomplish this task. Unit works but is also tough to get to due to propane tanks in front.

The Admiral does the lazzarette work. I don't fit in there. The shelf looks like the perfect spot. I'll have to move the engine shut off cable to another spot but that's easy.
