JUst bought a 91 30ft catalina. The water heater needs a new element, but my question is how do you turn off the elect suppy to just the water heater and not all of the110 outlets. There is only one main breaker for the 110 and what appears to resets for the heater and one for the outlets.My concern is that after I replace the element I want to be able to have 110 without burning out the new element. The boat is still winterized and will not have water avaiable for some time.

There is a dedicated breaker

I just pulled my Catalina 30 (1987) wiring diagram. it shows a totally seperate 15 amp breaker on the 110 circuit for the water heater. It shows two breakers, one for the outlets and one for the water heater. On my boat this breaker is located on the main panel above the Nav station. The other method is to change the Element and do not connect the hot lead to the water heater untill you can fill it.

Thanks for the reply . You are right about the dedicated breaker on the 87- 88 models,but the 91 only has resets and not breakers.

Those "Resets" are circuit breakers.

Since I sold by C-30 six years ago, my memory has gotten fuzzy as whether in or out is on, but the little push buttons on the left of your electrical panel are your circuit breakers.If you need more information, contact Seaward Products. They made your electrical panel.SteveAlchemist C-30T #4764
