Yesterday I installed a water filter on my 1995 Hunter Legend between the water tank and the sediment filter, the filter has 3/8" lines and the water lines are 1/2". After the installation I noticed that my water pump (annoying) sound is less and more cushioned and takes a little more time to build up the pressure. Am I damaging the water pump by restricting the water flow 1/2" to 3/8" ?, any thoughts on this addition? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Gene

Reverse the installation

Put the water filter after the strainer. The strainer is to remove the big lumps. You also might add a accumulator tank after the filter. This will smooth out the water flow and reduce the pump cyclying.
