Hi All:

I have a Hunter 45CC. It does not have a water filter - I would like to install one. What place, what type?

Thanks!

I have read this topic before. Take a look in the archived threads. It wasn't that long ago.

I use the water directly from the tanks for washing, cooking, etc. The only filter I use is a PUR brand galley sink faucet spout mount type that filters water for coffee and drinking. Works well for our needs.

Some prefer to filter all water from the tanks, which requires a larger volume filter. Whatever suits your needs.

Thanks all!
I installed a 3M B2 filter for the galley cold water faucet near the trash can - works well!

Just remember that a tap filter can only do so much. This really needs to be thought of as a system:

  • Clean the water tank annually. Zero solids.
  • Filter the water on the way in. There is LOTS of junk in marina pipes and hoses. You cannot have good water if there is sludge in the tank.
  • Chlorinate at least occasionally. Even the B2 is not certified as a microbial purifier. Over priced at that (Pentek mg-10mcb
can beat those performance numbers for 1/2 the price without relying on proprietary single manufacturer parts).
  • Filter the vent. Bugs crawl in.
  • Filter for cysts, since chlorine may not get them.
Good luck.
