While this hasn't been the greatest summer in Vermont this year we have enjoyed some good winds to sail in. However we have noticed on several occasions that when the boat is beating into good sized waves (for a lake) a leak develops into the forward cabin apparently from the anchor well. Although I haven't ripped anything out yet (that's what off season is for) it seems like the water is being driven into that anchor well drain as we descend into the wave faster than it leaves as we rise . It seems to produce a little fountain of spray that works it's way aft. As well the anchor well drain hole looks quite large. Has anyone had a problem similar and what did you do about it?

Latch

I am not sure where your leak is, but I had a leak that ran down the side of the interior at the anchor locker. It turned out to be the latch hole. That is; where the latch slides into the deck. The hole actually went all the way through and water would leak into the inside of the boat. Remedy; caulk the hole and then put Saran rap around the latch peg and close the latch. When the caulk sets up remove the Saran rap.

Geoff, I wanted to say hello...

During the summer I keep my 25.5 at a slip on the Otter Creek, and in the winter I haul/store her at Willsboro Bay Marina. You are the first Lake Champlain sailor I've bumper into here.
