Pressure test
Hi John -All boats encounter mysterious leak problems - the hard part is pinpointing where they originate. Phil is probably right; it could be coming from the chainplate. If re-caulking the chainplates doesn't do it, you might try doing a pressure test on the boat to locate the leak(s). You'll need a good sized shop vac, lots of masking tape, liquid soap, and a piece of cardboard. Cut the cardboard using one of your hatch boards as a template, then cut a hole in the center. Take the vacuum hose and attach it to the exhaust, and tape it into the hole. Use the cardboard hatch in place of the wood one. Make sure all hatches and potlights are closed, then tape around all of them, ensuring a good seal (cover any vents with tape as well). Turn on the vacuum and drip soap mixed with water on all suspected areas. If you see bubbles, you know where the leak is originating. The process is a little time consuming, but believe me, it works!Best of luck,Trevor
