I have a 1982 Cherubini 33. I hauled her in October. Today December 8 I went to the boatyard and saw a big puddle on the floor of the head. It is comming
out from the shower drain . I know there is a shower sump (which I disconnected). Since the boat is on the Hard water isn't coming in from the sea . It must be rainwater but how are gallons of rainwater getting into the shower sump?

mine does this when i heel over sometimes, the water from under the engine will slosh into the shower sump and up into the shower floor, no idea why you would be having this happen on the hard.

I have plugged the drain to the shower drain. Any water on the floor will drain to the sump. If you plug this drain the sump will be dry. I store the house bank batteries there and never have water in the sump. You can see the battery installation in the owner modifications section on this site.

There should be very little if any water under the engine. If water is in this area, check the small water channel under this engine "pan". I normally clean out the channel with a steel rod about twice a year.

hmm, thats a new one, i didnt know there was a drain hole there, i thought it was just a collection area for the water coming from the stuffing box. gonna investigate tonight.

I just investigated my engine pan and there is no hole...idk if that's not factory or if mine is just different....lots of those questions on this boat

It's not a hole in the "engine pan". The pan has a back edge that allows water from the back of the boat to flow under the pan. It is under the pan that fills with dirt and must be unplugged to let the water flow to the main bilge.

It's 3-4 ft. long, have to thread it back first and then under the pan. It must be thin. As I remember the port side is easier to push thru. It is not a hard task once you get down to the area.
