This was my first year with my 1986 ODay 23. To see what she could do, I sailed her hard and found she would round up between 40-45 deg. heel. But after each days sail, I found the carpet wet on the cabin floor. Anyone had this experience ? And if so, can you give me a hit as to where to start looking to start caulking ? Any & all advise and experience will be appreciated. This is boat #4 for me (in my life) and the best one yet !

Yikes!

I'm guessing you've checked any through hulls. If you're sailing at near 45 degrees then I'd look at the joint between the deck and hull. You might start with a visual inspection from inside and you might get a fried to apply the hose from outside while you inspect inside. You may have to remove the rub rail to get a good look. Good luck, Mike

you might be taking water thru your sink if the drain is below water level when heeled over to that degree, water pushed into thru hull and up into the sink and over into the cabin. perhaps a valve should be added to your thru hulls.

I had this problem when the port head sink droped below water level while heeling on port more than 35%. Plug sink with plug. Also had the problem with the drain hose fell off bottom off sink.
