Water Collection on Cabin floor

I've had a Hunter 212 for about a year. And as you know the Hunter 212 is an ACP boat. But there's one thing about it that I'm having a hard time figuring out. It's about a small amount of water that collects at the bottom of the cabin below the hatch. It's always a very small amount. And it always collects at this point. But for the life of me I can't figure out how it gets there. You may think it comes through the hatch opening, but the water collects there all the time, even on dry days. But it only collects when the boat is in the water. I'm wondering if the plastic somehow sweats, and the water collects at this point. I certainly don't see any cracks. And I once noticed that when in heavy waves, a little more water collected than normal. Does anyone have any ideas, or actual experience? It's not a big bother, as I said it's a small amount. But I'm just curious how it gets there.

Interior Water

Seems to me, that there will only be three places for the water on your salon floor to originate. 1. Outside airborn water through hatch, portlight, or deck leak etc. 2. Outside underwater through leaky thru-hull, keel bolts, etc. 3. Interior Water Systems through leaky water tank, distribution hose/pipe, faucett, or perhaps Bilge Pump discharge piping etc. You seem to have eliminated the first 2, and indicate that "once noticed that when in heavy waves, a little more water collected than normal" so take a good look at your domestic water & bilge pump systems. Heavy-weather shouldsn't affect "sweating". Regards, Gor

Water

Jesse, I am not familiar with the 212, so this may not apply. But, I had the same problem on a Mac 22. Turns out it was water dripping off the keel cable when I would raise it. Best of luck. Bryon Thomas "Shore Leave"
