We're noticing water directly under the engine, behind the batteries from time to time. It's dry after using the engine and when we leave to go home after the weekend, but when we return to the boat sometimes, there's about a half inch of water there. I'm looking around and notice that the raw water intake hose looks corroded at the thru hull. I'm wondering if this is where it's coming from. I have the yard doing our 1200 maintenance next month, and I'm planning on changing the hoses also. Any thoughts on the attached photos?

It does look like time. I see rust which always stops me in my tracks on hoses. Make sure the seacock stays closed when you aren't around. (both now and after the repair). It's too pretty of a boat to play submarine. I keep my keys hanging on the seacock so I won't forget to reopen it when it's time to go. SC

Tony,

Looks like the condition of the one I had replaced last spring on our 1999 381. In my case the seacock was working fine, even though it looked like hell. The threads on the thru hull (connected to the street elbow) had deteriorated and that is where my leak was. Had the thru hull, street elbow and seacock replaced (and then re-launched – ouch). Good idea to have your yard take a close look.

Not sure if you've found the source of the water but if not check the swim platform shower. If either the mixer valve or shower head leak the water will collect under the engine.
