I believe that water has infiltrated the area between the hull and the "insert" (cabin area) on my Catalina 22. Seems that the boat is sitting a bit lower in the water than I recall. Has anyone had this problem and is there a good place to access the area -- even if it's just to check if there is water down there. Thanks for your help.

Add some drainage

I had water get into the area under the dinette table (where your feet would rest) and it had no way out. I drilled a small (3/8") hole in the bulkhead/separator leading to the area, just along the hull surface. This allowed the water to drain into the forward sette compartment where it could be removed. You could try this approach to relive trapped water under the cabin sole. If you happen to leave it there over the winter, it will relieve itself in a bad sort of way.
