Water Ballast Boat on Great Salt Lake, Drawbacks?

Is there any issue using a water ballast boat on the Great Salt Lake? I assume the higher density cancels out more with water ballast.

Is there any issue with say, a high probability of brine shrimp fouling ballast tanks?

I hear the lake is not always enticingly clean to swim in, but also few powerboats for some reason. Is the overall experience tainted enough that you would not want to sail there? Would most choose not to swim off a boat?

Finally, should I expect the extra salt to eat up a trailer significantly more than regular salt water?

Any info is much appreciated.

Except for the smell, I think you have summed up the drawbacks well. There may be few powerboats, there are even fewer sailboats. I saw only one marina with just a handful of slips with masts.
