Water accumulate under the engine

Last year I had water accumulate under the engine catch basin. From what I see the water is coming from the stuffing box. As you can see in the picture, the stuffing nut is pass the little catch area that Catalina created to divert the water from the stuffing box to the bilge. My thoughts are to create a little dam and drill a few holes to have the water drip into the bilge.
Anyone else have an idea or suggestion?

If I understand you correctly ...

Drilling straight down would not be a good thing to do. If you are really concerned about it, why not go to one of those drip less shaft couplings. I know PaulJ did a fancy install a while ago. I've been ripping off his ideas for years, so I am sure he will share with you how he did it.

My understanding is the little tube end you should see on that forward part of that catch area does lead to the bilge eventually.

I understand that, but the catch area to too far back from the stuffing nut and the water never gets to the catch basin. So it fall foward in to the catch area under the engine. I just lifted a picture from another posting.

Create a removable pan to catch or re-direct the drippings.

Thats what I am thinking about. I find it strange that I am the only one with this issue. You would think that would be a fixed point in the mold.

The mold is from the outside. The inside would probably have been layed up and then some jigs put in place. What is your hull #?
