Hose Odor
Congratulations on your new boat. You will probably get many replies on this. It is probably one of the most common issues posted on this site. The archives have a WEALTH of information on this subject. You need to get familiar with the "search archives" function of the site. You will have endless reading on the topic, guaranteed. With all that said, a used boat, probably has odor permeating through the hose. If that is the case, you will need to replace it. Do not use any hose. You will see the postings on the better hose to use. There is a test that can be performed, credit to Peggy Hall. Take a rag and dampen with warm water. Put the rag around the hose. If the odor is on the rag, when removed, it is time.It is best to check in low-lying areas. Sometimes the easiest point to test is not the problem area.Odors can be tricky. Start with the most obvious. Head hoses, bilges and areas with poor air circulation.Good luck with your new purchase. I hope you enjoy immensely as we enjoy ours.Mike D
