I owner a 2000 Hunter 460, the unit was removed. I would like to replace.

But I can figure out how to get it through the cabin door way it is 16.5 inches.

Any thoughts on getting it on the boat align with manufacture suggestions?

Any thoughts?

1) Contact the previous owner and ask them how they got the old one out and see if that gives you any ideas.
2) Contact the washer manufacturer and see if they can ship you the unit unassembled and put it together once it's were you want it.
3) Back when I was on submarines and we needed to replace something that wouldn't fit through the hatch, we'd cut a hole in the boat to bring it onboard and then weld it back up. You could do the same, although I understand why this wouldn't be a very desirable option.

They probably took it apart. I'm sure the original unit was put in before the deck was put on.

These units are put in before the interior is finished.
You will have to either re-install one in pieces, or modify some carpentry

I had a friend with the washer dryer in his 460. The washer dryer, in the port cabin is probably a "splendide" brand. It most definitely is not disassembled. The door opening to the port cabin was enlarged to accommodate the installation of the unit. Once the unit was in place the opening was restored to the original dimensions. I had a "splendide unit in an RV, it weighs 168 lbs and it cannot be disassembled. I know because I removed and reinstalled the motor several times but that is another story.

The unit was installed after the boat was delivered to Bremerton, Washington. I have a 466 and was told that to install that unit I would have to undergo the same "joinery surgery".

On the 49, you need to cut open the door opening, and then re-construct it.
So, you have a choice of finding someone who is either a good cabinet maker, or a good mechanic / technical guy.
Either way it isn't going through the door without tools.
So, your choice on method.
I would opt for the disassembly, as you won't have a bunch of woodwork to clean up afterwards

One thing I forget to mention.
I know of a 49 owner who had this done.
What he neglected to do was install the really beefy stainless steel bracket assy that secures the unit in place.
The boat heeled over, and the washer went flying.
Find out from Hunter what their original install bracket looked like.
Make something similar, it just find another way to ensure it doesn't have "wings" once you heel over at 20 degrees

If the unit is a "Splendide" it measures 23.5" x 23.5" x 33" tall. The door opening was enlarged above the galley and sink area. Oh, and my friend had an undetected water leak that was not discovered until the survey upon sale. Ouch.
