I recently added an anchor washdown pump by teeing into the head inlet hose. While this technique worked well with my previous boat, a Catalina 36, it doesn't on my (new)Hunter 42. The pump is sucking air and I'm reasonably confident its because of the connection to the head, a Jabsco. I'm looking for an easier solution than putting in a dedicated thruhull. Anyone else solve this problem? Perhaps a checkvalve to the head? If the teeing works with some Jabscos and not others, is it worth trying to replace something in the head valve cover? Pete Econ
