What is the best pump to put in? Location? Hose, etc. I'm getting too old for the one bucket at a time wash job on the mooring can. I have a 2001 Hunter 320.

Shurflo 3.4 GPM

I had a Shurflo 3.4 GPM washdown kit (West Marine supplied) installed when my boat was commissioned. I have an outlet in the anchor well with a short coiled hose so I can wash down the anchor rode and chain and anchor when we retrieve it with the electric windlass. Just step on the button and shoot the rode with water to clean it off. I had another outlet installed in the stern area so I can wash down a stern anchor should I set one. I also use it when cruising or anchoring out to wash bugs off the boat after a night on the hook. It also comes in handy on a hot day to spray down your arms and legs. Keeps you much cooler in the cockpit! If I were to replace it, I would go with a stronger pump. Some of the bottom mud in Kentucky lake is pretty sticky and I would like more power to clean the anchor a bit quicker, but the unit I have has been more than adequate.
