I have purchased a Par Max 4.8GPM washdown pump, and would like to tee it off the freshwater intake for my forward head. Does anyone know of a good way to install this system? I would like to have it plumbed to my anchor well. If anyone has a suggestion, or has done this or a similiar install, I would really appreciate hearing from you! Thanks in advance.

Flushing with fresh water...you lake sailors have all the luxuries:) On my P42 the washdown pump is forward of the forward bulkhead of the V-berth, under the windlass (i.e a few inches ahead of where your feet go). A standard garden hose fitting is in the anchor locker. I have a 15 foot curly hose connected to that. I am not sure how much this area changed from the 42 to the 420. If its similar to the 42, good luck fishing the hoses and wires.

Wilf I installed a washdown system in my 2000-420. I located the pump in the locker below the forward bunk, ran the hose under the forward head floor pan and up into the area between the anchor well and bulkhead of of the head. Then located a flush mounted quick disconnect for the hose in the anchor well. The electrical was taken off of the windlass circuit. If you want more information email me at eternity420@comcast.net
