Hi Warren, Not only do you pose thought-provoking and interesting questions for the site, but you also come up with some pretty darn good ideas. The temperature gauge you talk about on page 85 of the current issue of Boat Works (Fall 06) is a great idea; why don't you share it with the forum? Keep up the good work, Chris (Hunter 23...for now)

Thanks Chris....

Nice to get some feedback now and then. As to my temp guage idea published in "BoatWorks," I thought I had posted it here some time ago, but perhaps not. BTW, it still works nicely on my H28.5. Thanks again. PS: For those interested, here is the item mentioned: "Inexpensive Temperature Guage Does your engine have a temperature guage? Mine only has a warning light. To remedy this problem at minimal cost, I bought an inexpensive indoor-outdoor battery operated thermometer at a discount store. This thermometer has a remote sensing device on a long wire that I snaked through the cockpit locker next to my Yanmar diesel engine. I attached the sensor to a hot water pipe on the engine with a bit of flexible copper wire and attached the read-out unit to the locker bulkhead with velcro. While this means of taking the temperature of the water in the engine will not give you an accurate reading of the exact temperature, it will give you enough information on how your engine is running to know if all is well or if you are on your way toward an overheat situation."
