A friend of mine recently had the warning buzzer fail. Over the years the little horn had been loosing volume and tone and then it went to an intermitent screech and finally died. It was bench tested and declared DOA. The problem comes with the replacement part from yanmar which is priced at around $185. Yanmar uses two different buzzers one with two leads at $70 and the one with multiple leads. We had considered substituting the simpler one by extending leads from the individual warning lamps to the (+) side of the buzzer. We just purchased on E-bay a warning buzzer for a Bombardier Jet ski for around $15 and it is a 12V with two lead connectors. It has approximately the same cicunference as the yanmar so we anticipate that mounting it to the panel will not be a problem. Has anybody had a similar problem and other than replacing the Yanmar part what was the solution. In my book going without a buzzer is not an option as one seldom looks at the panel.

Hope it works!

'cuz I've saved your proposed solution in my 'Yanmar' file, for when my buzzer goes bzzzzzzzz.......

Hope someone else chimes in with an affirmative, gotta have an audio alert 'cuz the lights are (almost) useless. Take care.
