I would like to hook up with some people that are looking for a rookie to crew for them. Looking to get some experience with bigger boats and see what different boats are like. Hoping to retire to a boat that can be singlehanded. I have a good amount of time until that day comes to get the experience needed. The Chesapeake Bay area would be of interest, around Annapolis and the Eastern Shore down to Cambridge. Any help would be appreciated. Jeff

If you ever get yourself down to the warmer climate of the Gulf Coast, you are more than welcome to sail with me. I have a S37, and am based out of the New Orleans area. Mostly single hand, but sometimes get lucky and find some female crew. Sail mostly the gulf coast areas, as far south as the Mexican Border and east over to Florida.

Yacht Clubs
Don't know if you have thought of this or it's obvious, but check out all the Yacht Clubs in your area. A lot of them have club races once a week and quite a few often would appreciate the extra hand on board. That's mostly where I gained my experience. Once a week for several years, going out and doing mulitple tacks, jibes, spinnaker up, spinnaker down, spinnaker up, spinnaker down, coming with inches of other boats 24' to 36'. You will learn a lot on boat / sail handling and how a boat will behave.
