Wanted-Raymarine St4000 autopilot control head

My Ericson-28 was hit by lightning earlier this summer. All electronics were fried. Have replaced the VHF, SIGNET depth and Boat speed and WIndspeed and wind direction units plus all mast wiring and mast lights. Last item is the autopilot. Bad news is that the Raymarine ST4000 is out of service and they will not repair it. Raymarine said to replace it with a new ST 6002 control head plus the (Now separate ) R18151 course computer. Together they are over $1100. AAAHHHHHHHH. So if anyone has an old working ST4000 they want to part with, let me know. Here is a couple of pictures as I don't think the unit has the model on it.

I have one

joe-fran, I'm the process of replacing my ST4000 with a simrad autopilot. It's in the yard and currently being changed out. Should have it available in a couple of weeks or sooner depending on the change out. The wheel pilot failed over July 4th and when I remove it yesterday found out it was the retaining bracket had broken otherwise the drive motor is ok along with the head. Let me know, via private email at HOW.

Edit: Btw its a ST4000+ and it will come with the control head the wheel drive unit and the flux gate compass. -> Jim

Autopilot repairs

FWIW there's a guy in Colorado who claims to fix/rebuild autopilots. Can't vouch for him but he seems like a decent guy. I'm having problems with my Autohelm 6000 linear drive and he has some good advice and ideas that I may explore. Just thought I'd pass it along. He advertises on Ebay here's a link
