We are searching for a Hunter 26, 1994-1996, water ballast. Must haves include: stern rail seats, trailer with brakes, roller furling, bimini, VHS, GPS, sail covers, sails and engine in good condition, overall kept in great condition and well maintained, preferably in fresh water. Desire to have mast raising gear, cockpit cushions, camper top. We live in Columbus, OH, so looking for something within 10 hour drive. This is our first boat (sailed others), so we are looking for something that will give us a wonderful experience and minimal maintenance problems.

Internet

Posting here is a good start (provided this forum allows it, I'm not sure). I found my '97 26 using the internet last fall. Had about four to choose from, all found online. Sorry, but I've erased all the internet shortcuts to boats for sale and broker sites, otherwise I'd send them to you. Try a few different search engines and i'm sure you'll find your way. We've been very pleased with our 26. It's hard to believe that Hunter was able to pack so much boat into only 26'. Ron Mehringer s/v Hydro-Therapy

Check classifieds here and...

You might also want to get the word out to some of the dealers listed here. And, FYI, th proper way to look for boat in these forums is tolist your email address so prospective sellers can contact you there, rather than announcing their boat for sale here, which is not permitted. Thanks and good luck!

Give www.traderonline.com a try

This is the website for the "Trader" magazines (including the "Sailboat Trader") that you see in convenience stores everywhere. Click on the tab for "Boats". On any given day, there are over 50,000 boats for sale. The site has a pretty good search engine that is indexed by region, state, manufacturer, length and price. You can also add your own key words (like "trailer" and "clean"). Many of the ads aslo have photos. If I am not mistaken, you may also access the site from a link at SailNet (www.sailnet.com) That's how I found my H23. It was less than 30 miles from home, the asking price was very reasonable price (and it wasn't adevertised in the HOW classifieds). Good luck! Peter S/V Raven
