COuple of other suggestions .....

Gary, how is the search going. I broke my mast on my O'day 23 the 3rd time I went out last year - Long story for another time. I ended up "fixing" mine - The work was done by friends of freinds for a case of beer. I am told that this is done all the time on big boats where expereinced people do the work. We cleaned the ends of the mast up, made an idential section by bending aluminum plate whcih fit inside the mast and then bolted the pieces together. The two pieces where then welded at the joint. We have been through one season and - yes I do look up everytime the wind is above 20 knots but then I am usually reefed so there is not so much pressure up high. The mast is strong and staight and .... better than original. If you need a new stick you can try these places: - it all depends on what you use the boat for and how much $ you have to spend. 1) Follow the link already suggested to Rudy at D&R Marine and see if he has one - If not call him and ask if he can get you one or knows of a used one. 2) Check out SailRite have many different masts. The one on my boat was made by Kenyon and they have the various sizes available. http://www.rigrite.com/Spars/Rig-Rite_Spars/RigRite_Masts.html 3) Check out Dwyer Masts at: http://www.dwyermast.com/dwyer.htm They have lots of differnt masts and spars and it doesn't look too bad if you can use some of the existing rigging. 4) Try purchasing a used mast from one of the consignment shops/marinas. For example check out Cramer marine in Wisconsin - they have a mast for a Cal 25 complete with all the rigging for $1,000. There are lots of other consignment shops so perhaps you can find a mast if you put out a couple of enquiries. http://www.cramermarine.com/consignment.html Finally if you need and new rigging, side stays etc ect try Rudy - I just purchased replacement stays for my boat and Rudy gave me a great deal (the day after thanks giving) He will make them up for you and the winter is quiet so ask him for a deal if you need some. Good luck and lets us know how this all works out - By the way how did the mast break? Cheers

Replacement Mast

Try Rig-Rite, they carry the OEM parts for the O'Day. I am looking at Halyard Organizer Plate: K-1374HP so I can run my lines back to the cockpit.
