Want to replace stove

I have been advised by the marine store not to rebuild my orginal pressurized Kenyon alcohol stove. They recommend buying a new stove. But what to do? Propane, butane, non-pressurized alcohol or just rub two sticks? I have a three burner propane camping stove that would fit in my 23. However, I'm not sure if that is a safe way to go.

Propane

I have the original alcohol 2-burner on my Oday23. My buddy just put a new 2-burner in his Oday22 and it is a propane. It is much easier to start, burns hotter, and less messy, in my opinion. If I had to put a new one, I would go with propane.

That Has Been My Choice

A $30 propane camp stove, using spin on cartridges. Been using this for over 10 years. Hot, cheap and relatively safe if you store the bottles out of the cabin. Just respect the fuel and you will be fine.Don

Heavier than air.

I have always heard that propane is heavier than air so if there is a leak from the bottle or from a connection, it will collect in the boat presenting an explosive hazard. Alchol is lighter than air and escapes from the boat.
